Garrett J. Delehanty, Jr.' has a national
commercial real estate practice. He regularly represents lenders and borrowers in portfolio and capital market real estate transactions while maintaining an active practice representing other institutional clients in hotel, retail, multifamily, office and other commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions. He has extensive experience in matters relating to the hospitality industry, including acquisitions, sales, financing, hotel management, and franchising. He has lectured and published articles on matters relating to real estate, hotel and investment law, and has served on several law reform advisory committees.
Garrett joined the Firm in 1999. He was formerly a partner in a major Los Angeles law firm (1976-85), the Senior Real Estate Counsel of Days Inns of America, Inc. (1985-88), of counsel to a real estate boutique in Atlanta (1988-89), in-house counsel for the real estate and hotel portfolios of Aetna, Inc. (1990-96), and a member of Hebb & Gitlin, P.C. (1996-99) now a part of Bingham McCutchen.
Garrett received his B.A., cum laude, from Wesleyan University in 1973, and his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, in 1976. He is admitted to practice in California, Georgia, and Connecticut.
A resident of Simsbury, Connecticut, where he is an elected member of the Zoning Commission, Garrett is married and has a grown daughter.
