Douglas M. Evans practices in commercial
litigation and trials in both state and federal courts, with an emphasis on
real estate disputes, contracts, bankruptcy, commercial collections,
foreclosure, mechanic's liens, probate litigation, insurance and appeals. Doug's
practice also includes structured settlement transfers and lottery assignment
transactions. Doug regularly represents clients in all Judicial Districts of the State of Connecticut and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and is also admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Hartford County and Connecticut Bar Associations and serves on the executive committee of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section.
Doug graduated from Connecticut College, New London, Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985, and graduated from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts, cum laude, in 1989. In law school, he was an editor of the Suffolk University Transnational Law Journal. Doug received his training and experience at Schatz & Schatz, Ribicoff & Kotkin, in Hartford, where he practiced for six years in the litigation department.
Doug is an active member of the Avon, Connecticut, Town Committee, and serves on the Town's Board of Education and Park and Recreation Commission. A resident of Avon since 1993, Doug is married with three children.
